Deposits

To confirm your booking we require a 50% non refundable, non transferrable deposit within 7 days of your quote being issued. If a booking is made within 2 weeks of the event date, full upfront payment is required. Payment secures your date in our books as we are at times fully booked and non payment of deposit can lead to your place being given to another client. Work will only commence on your order once deposit has been made based on the agreed quote and all designs approved by the client. Deposits are payable via Direct Deposit

 

Confirmation of Orders

Upon receipt of your order you will be emailed a copy of your invoice.  Please ensure all contact details, personal information, spelling of names, delivery/collection dates and times and any requested changes have been properly documented on your invoice. 

 

Balance Due

Balance of payment is due via bank deposit no later than two weeks prior to the delivery date.  A reminder will be sent if the balance is not received at this time. Failure to pay following the reminder may result in the order being cancelled and the deposit being retained as compensation for ingredients and equipment purchased 

 

Cancellations and Refunds

Deposits are non transferrable and non refundable. If an order is cancelled, the deposit will be forfeited. Once delivery is accepted or cake/s collected, no refunds will be issued. 

 

Changes

Any changes made to your order within 14 days of collection or delivery may incur a surcharge, depending on the change requested.  In most cases changes can be accommodated, however at times it is not possible. We will however endeavour to accommodate you to the best of our ability. 

 

Delivery

Cakes and cupcakes are made and packaged in a safe way so that they are stable when travelling. Clients wishing to pick up their products are responsible for the safe delivery of their product and Baked Couture Cakes does not accept responsibility for any accidents that occur once the cake has been collected. When delivering,  Baked Couture Cakes is not responsible for any damage to the cake after setup is complete. Cakes are heavy and require a sturdy table, and optimal room temperature of 23˚ degrees or below. Baked Couture Cakes  is not responsible for any damage to the cake, or shortage of cake, caused by a guest, caterer, wait staff member, or any other person not employed by Baked Couture Cakes. 

 

Design

Baked Couture Cakes aims to produce products of the highest standard that fulfil the desires of our clients as we understand them. It is important to remember that we are dealing with food and art and no two products are truly ever the same. There are times when we will need to make decisions during the process of creation that may affect the style of decoration, proportion or structure of the product. Colour can be subjective and it is vital that clients wishing for exact colour matches provide colour samples and discuss the desired colour when ordering their cake. With regard to ribbon, we will do their best to match samples provided but are limited by the options available. 

 

Consultations 

Face-to-face consultations are only available by request for weddings and usually held once once a month in Picton. The duration of each consultation is 30 minutes. 

 

Tastings

Take home tasting boxes containing six flavours being baked during the weeks of collection are available at a cost. Collection is from Picton and is usually once a month on a nominated date. Unfortunately samples are not available on any date other than this date.   

 

Serving Sizes

Serving amounts provided by standard shape cakes are based on dessert sized portions being 1" wide x 2"  long x 5" high per slice, or coffee sized portions being being 1" wide x 1" long x 5" high per slice. Baked Couture Cakes warrants all cakes will provide at least the requested number of servings when properly served according to the standard size. The number of actual servings created during actual service of the cake cannot be guaranteed as methods of slicing, such as serving larger or smaller than the standard slice size, or other preparations will affect the number of actual servings. Specialty carved cake serving amounts are estimated and are not guaranteed to be exact. 

 

Storage

Buttercream covered cakes, naked cakes and cupcakes should be refrigerated in the box in which they were delivered, and removed from the fridge and brought to room temperature prior to serving. 

Fondant covered cakes should not be refrigerated, but stored in a cool, preferably air conditioned room, out of sunlight. Once cut, cakes should be stored in an airtight container or plastic wrap in the refrigerator. Sliced cake and cupcakes can also be stored in an airtight container and frozen for up to 3 months. 

 

Allergens

As cakes are baked in a kitchen where allergens are present, unfortunately, Baked Couture Cakes is not allergy friendly and does not offer gluten free options

 

Fresh Flowers

If fresh flowers are provided by an outside source, they are required to be available at the venue on the day of the function prior to the cake being delivered. Fresh flowers will not be inserted into the cake without being suitably wired and taped by a florist. If flowers are not available at the time of cake delivery, Baked Couture Cakes will not be responsible for arranging on the cake. Please be advised that fresh flowers are not a food product, and may contain pesticides, insects, dirt, or other contaminants. Baked Couture Cakes cannot be held liable for any reactions caused.

 

Photographs 

All cakes are photographed prior to, or upon delivery. Baked Couture Cakes reserve the right to use any photographs for display or promotion without compensation to you.
